Welcome to my blog! My name is Evelyn Dean and I am an elementary school librarian from Charleston, West Virginia.

I’m a STEAM-focused educator who pushes students out of the box. I have fun with my students and cheer them on no matter what crazy or silly activity we’re doing. I believe in letting kids be kids.

I’m also a lover of cats, a pusher of graphic novels, and a complainer of everything (but I’m working on that last part).

Education

I graduated from West Virginia State University with a bachelor’s in elementary education in 2017. I began my master’s journey in 2019 and plan to graduate this summer.

Experience

I had one year of experience in classroom teaching (second grade) before I moved to the library life. I’m currently in my second year as a school librarian. I’m also a self-proclaimed book fair mogul.
